Integral Hard Drive Copy Station Review

Hard drive copying at the press of a button.
Integral Hard Drive Copy Station

We all know the importance of backing up important data, especially after losing some data (the first time); photographs of memories and loved ones and children growing up cannot be replaced. That year’s worth of work stored on your trusty PC which just died and refuses to start with loud clicks proclaiming the hard drive is truly dead, these are scenarios all of us dread, and a few have learned from (you only need to lose precious stuff once to NEVER make the mistake of putting off backing up again). External hard drives make those important backups easier to manage, and can be stored in a separate location (to your workplace, for example).

This Hard drive Copy Station does all of the previous paragraph, and quite a bit more besides. This unit features both USB and eSATA connection to your PC (many SATA systems have an external SATA connection at the rear of the PC, but you can get a connector to fit a spare SATA socket on the motherboard and exit at a plate at the back of the case, with the expansion cards) . However, it also allows copying of data from one hard drive to another without connection to the PC, with a simple one touch button press, allowing a new much larger hard drive to replace your existing drive, exactly duplicating your entire system to the new drive for seamless upgrade (no more losing device drivers or having to re-install programs!)

By the way, if you aren’t looking for a review and just want a link to buy the item for the best price, then click here to order directly from Amazon.

If like me you keep bare hard drives for backup purposes (I plug them in as and when in the system to add to or retrieve) this will be a breeze, as you can use this as a docking station for any 2.5” or 3.5” drive.

In conclusion, you have a very useful device here, a hard disk copier which is stand alone and can be used to either backup data drives or transfer your system to a larger drive without the hassle of re-installation and correcting driver loss and other anomalies that often happen when you put a shiny new large drive in place of the original, and a docking station, which allows an otherwise redundant drive to be used as an external data drive.
