GelaSkin Protective Skin for the Amazon Kindle – Façade (and many others including Black)
So you are now the proud owner of an Amazon Kindle, and you are using it everywhere you go, on the bus, train, doctor’s waiting room, supermarket queue, virtually any spare minute is spent with an e-newspaper, periodical or compelling e-novel.
But then you put it down, and unless it happens to be in a cotton wool lined drawer, it is likely to be susceptible to scratching or even worse damage. Sure, the advert on the TV shows a Kindle in a front basket of a bike, a back pocket and I seem to recall, in the firing line of a baby and I think even a drooling dog!
I use, rather than "worship" or "cherish", such items as mobile phones and cameras, but I also ensure they have adequate protection when in transit, whether it is the boot of my car, my case, pocket or at home. The GelaSkin Protective skin is a silicone second skin front and back protection which is less than one millimetre thick, allowing docking or attachment of accessories without removal. Stickers for the buttons complete the transformation of your customized reader. Add a screen protector, and you have total scratch protection with a customized feel to your personal Kindle. 3m are the manufacturers responsible for the adhesive to attach the skin, which gives a wrinkle-free fitting without bubbling which can be removed from your device without any residue. Your Kindle is also protected against UV damage, and all for less than fifteen pounds. There are another twelve in the picture series, offering a wide choice of scenes to adorn your new companion.
If a funky artwork is not to your desire, a little less cash (around a tenner) gets you an option of black, blue, pink and yellow protectors, (known as Flexishield) and a black, white or pink silicone skin which offer a gel-like cover to snugly fit as a one-piece, with cutouts for connections, speakers and buttons, still offering scratch resistance and some resilience against the odd knock. I probably wouldn’t take one surfing, but you may see me on the beach, catching up with my latest read (and I don’t surf, anyway…)
